Lake Coleman is well-known for hybrid stripe bass fishing. This is especially true in the summer and early autumn when the hybrids are free to roam in large numbers and feed on the lake’s surface. Topwater and fast-moving lures are good options. For hybrids in this reservoir, drift fishing and downrigging with live shad are both very effective. Largemouth bass fishing best between September and May. These bass love Lake Coleman, which is a great topwater lake. Also effective are crankbaits and spinnerbaits as well as plastic worms, jigs and jerkbaits. From March to May, floating worms and jerkbaits are the best.
